EXCELLENCE IN THE VINEYARD
Apulia: a land of wine and unique stories
Our vineyards are distributed across five districts, with seven main vineyards and eighteen sub-vineyards, each with its own characteristics. As the location changes, the slope of the terrain, the presence of rock, wind intensity, soil depth and soil composition all change. Each vineyard tells a different story, and our job is to interpret it while respecting its nature.
SHAKING HANDS WITH THE WORLD'S MOST IMPORTANT TERROIRS
LA SELVA Vineyard
In the heart of the Murgia, the La Selva Vineyard is rooted in rare soil rich in natural chalk. It is a soil created from ancient marine deposits, which over time have been transformed into a valuable resource for viticulture. Its porous structure functions as a natural reservoir: it retains water and slowly releases it during drier periods, providing the vine with constant, controlled hydration.
This balance creates a slight, beneficial tension in the plant, which is reflected in a harmonious relationship between acidity, sugars and aromatic components. In the glass, the result is a complex, fine, vertical wine with a depth that recalls the world’s greatest terroirs.
A UNIQUE TERRITORY
OUR POTENTIAL

The Alta Murgia territory spans twenty-one municipalities, between the Bradanica Trench and the valleys that descend towards the Adriatic coast. It is a landscape shaped by centuries of agro-pastoral activities and complex geology, where nature and human presence coexist in balance.

The Murgia is formed by powerful masses of limestone and calcareous dolomite rocks dating back to the Cretaceous period, with altitudes above 350 metres and major karst phenomena such as sinkholes, lamas, bumps and outcrops of living rock. The ravines, deep natural canyons that cut into the land, complete this context.
A UNIQUE TERRITORY
GRAVINA
In fact, proximity to the ravines creates a cooler and more ventilated microclimate, leading to slower, more regular ripening of the grapes that reduces water stress and temperature changes and ensures greater fruit integrity.
The heart of botromagno
A territory
that guides every choice
Studying the Murgia, observing its variations and interpreting the responses of the vines orients our daily work. Every decision, from vineyard management to winemaking choices, stems from a desire to respect and promote our land. For Botromagno, the Alta Murgia is not just a place of production: it is the matrix that shapes our identity.
