ROOTS AND VALUES
A history spanning more than 30 years
Botromagno's new course comes at a time of great transformation for the wine world, marked by a return to its origins and a renewed cultural openness. Careful observation of the territory, from microzones to orientation, from altitudes, to soils, to the effects of climate change, reveals clear evidence: the Alta Murgia already possesses all the conditions to express a different, more authentic and contemporary way of making wine in Apulia. Our project was created to give voice to this intuition and transform it into a winemaking identity.
The Origins
The Gravina Social Winery is born, a symbol of cooperation and agricultural rebirth.
An initiative that unites the territory’s winegrowers under a single vision: to enhance the fruits of the land and the identity of a community.
D.O.C. Gravina
With the recognition of the Denominazione di Origine Controllata, the wines of Gravina officially enter the landscape of Italian excellence.
It is the first step towards a new awareness of quality.
Botromagno is founded
Born from passion and the will to innovate, BOTROMAGNO takes its name from an ancient district of the city.
A modern winery, yet deeply rooted in native varieties and the unique character of the territory.
The Protection Consortium
Confirming the value of the area and its winemaking potential, the Consortium for the Protection of Gravina D.O.C. is established. Botromagno actively participates in its founding, helping to promote and protect the appellation..
A new path
Botromagno enters a new era of its journey, in a context where excellence is the key to success in an increasingly competitive environment.
a new path
At this time of strong evolution in the sector, Botromagno is starting a new chapter with a clear goal: to bring a great white wine from the Murgia to compete among the top international players.
UNESCO GEOPARK
Alta murgia plateau national park

Our work is rooted in a rare territory: the Alta Murgia, a landscape sculpted by limestone rocks, cool winds and forms shaped over time. It is one of the few UNESCO World Geoparks in Italy, a recognition that protects not only the geological value of the area, but also the harmony between nature, history and human activity.

Producing wine here means safeguarding a unique ecosystem and transforming its wealth into an identity.
The Alta Murgia Plateau National Park has been declared a UNESCO Geopark.
GRAVINA NOMINATED FOR
Italian capital of culture
Botromagno is located in Gravina in Puglia, a place where millennia of history coexist with an agricultural tradition that is still very much alive.
The nomination as Italian Capital of Culture confirms the value of this territory and its cultural heritage: a mosaic of landscape, cave architecture, biodiversity and community.
It is from this interweaving that the soul of our wines is born.

Man at the heart of the vineyard
Every choice we make is born in the vineyard, guided by the experience and daily observation of the people who live and work there.
For Botromagno, quality is not a mechanical process, but a balance built through the work of those who know the land, read its signals and tend to it with care.
People are the heart of the winery: a community of experienced winegrowers and technicians, agronomists and viticulturists who, day after day, give shape to the identity of our wines.

IDENTITY, TERRITORY, AND VISION
Botromagno was born in the heart of the Alta Murgia, a territory rich in history and soils that have always guided our approach to winemaking. We have built our identity by enhancing local varieties and the hilly landscape that characterises this area.
Today, this journey continues with new challenges and an even deeper awareness of the area’s potential.

Our new project comes about at a time of change for the wine world. Studying microzones, orientation, soils and the impact of climate leads us to one certainty: Alta Murgia has all the characteristics to express a different, modern way of making wine in Apulia. Botromagno aims to be an expression of this vision.

We are focusing mainly on hillside whites: wines that we want to make fresh, crisp and elegant, to best encapsulate the climate and altitudes of the Murgia. It is a quest inspired by daily observation of the vineyards and a desire to give this land an authentic voice.
OUR TEAM
The operational heart of Botromagno
The value of our work is born from those who live the vineyard and the cellar every day. The team brings together technical expertise, experience and a deep knowledge of the territory.
It is thanks to this team that every project takes shape with rigour, continuity and vision. A collective effort that gives our wines their identity.
